Room 417, Tuesday night

Jaye's working on her metaphor for Criminal Justice class. Diligently, one might add. it would have been done right away, except the plaque bit was used by someone else and now Jaye needs to be creative. That kind of thing is happening a lot to her lately.

She's got a notebook and pen in hand, and is watching disc 2 of Vanessa Saturn for snarky inspiration.

Jaye's phone starts ringing. She should answer it.

After all, what is the point of owning a telephone if you are unable to pick up the reciever?

Jaye picks up. "Madame Toussant's House of Sex, how can I help you?"

She'd thought it was going to be her sister calling. How wrong she is.

There is a short pause.

"Miss Tyler, am I to understand that you run a... service of aural sexual activity over your school phone number?" Smith says, rather perturbed.

"Oh, no, that's just my cell phone number. Who is this?"

"Your Principal, Miss Tyler. I had originally..." Smith grumbles a little, and there is a slight pause before he finally says. "Congratulations."

"...Why?"

"You just volunteered to run the school club on friday." Smith chuckles a little.

Rory bounced up to the fourth floor, and knocked on Jaye's door, curious as to whether she had gotten her note the night before.

Jaye opens the door a crack, and peeks out. So she's a little paranoid, shut up. "What?"

"Hi, Mrs. Kennedy!" Rory said brightly.

Jaye shrieks (again) and slams the door shut.

"YOU'RE WORKING FOR HIM, AREN'T YOU!" she calls through the door.

Rory stared at the door.

"For your husband? Um, no. Though wouldn't it be cute if he like, hired me to bring you flowers or something?"

"OMGWTF."

Jaye totally crawls under her bed to hide. Look, her brain just got broke. What do you want from her?

Archie is getting into the habit of wandering up to the fourth floor because it's good exercise for his legs. Really. And he just stops by Jaye's room because it's an excuse to take a break before going back down, honest.

He's about to knock on the door when he sees Rory's note (http://pics.livejournal.com/rory__gilmore/pic/0002a809/). And well, it's a coughing fit, but it's probably just as loud as knocking.

A pile under the covers calls, "If you're Rory again, I will beat you to death with my monkey, I swear to god!"

Time and culture differences be damned, Archie knows that sounds dirty. But also, quite possibly kind of hot, especially if that note is Rory's doing.

"Er, it's Archie?"

For some reason, she glares at the lion. She blames him. Doesn't know why. But she does.

Pulling the covers off her head and showing off an impressive bad hair moment, she calls, "Come in."

Archie looks around and peels the note off the door before he steps inside. It's not that he's wearing a silly grin because Jaye's messed-up hair is cute or anything.

"Hello. Do I want to know about the sign on the door?"

"Sign?"

Archie laughs, which somehow manages to scoot him right up next to Jaye. "That Deep Thoughts option sounds like a good one, actually. If you actually do it, I might be persuaded to join as well."

If Jaye leans over a little to bump against him, it's purely by accident. "I'll do it. Consider yourself being persuaded."

"It's a deal. I must be easy, then." Archie's only leaning his shoulder against Jaye as paybacks for her bumping him, really.

Jaye doesn't say the comment that comes to mind, so she just leans back and smiles.

"So," says Archie, because it's practically required that someone say something lame at this juncture, "are you still having a horrible day?"

He might be shifting a tiny bit closer.

She smiles at him this time, instead of at the door or wall or whatever. "It's definitely better."
