Room 417- The Hyperion- Monday night

This is Jaye. This is Jaye making phone calls. Yes, again.

When she's done (for now, at least), she gets up and goes to her dresser to grab the blank "Welcome to Hollywood!" postcard she'd gotten and hadn't managed to write on yet due to not having anything to say. And she still doesn't. What she ends up writing is

CALL ME!

with her phone number underneath, and then realizing she doesn't have an address for Jarod. So she writes "JAROD" on the address section, hopes the post office can figure out, and doesn't realize that might be a bad idea just in general.

"So I might have spent a good chunk of my weekend watching Japanese game shows on YouTube," she says. "I learned a new word. And they say you can't learn from the Internet."

"You can, you just have to run it through the Fandom filter," Sam grinned. "Are the game shows any good?"

"No. They're horrible. They hurt themselves on purpose and I've never seen anyone win a prize!" she says. "It's awesome, I will send you links."

"You have my e-mail, right?" So she was wondering if she'd see O'Neill on one of them. Or Teal'c. It happened.

"Well, I had a E-mail address. It's possible I'm spamming the Fandom High server, and if I'm not, I think I owe it to myself to try..."

"Yeah, that's the one I'm using for personal e-mails. Especially since I'm not sure how the interdimensionality of the server works, so it's best to use that one for people from school," she explained. "Plus, that server can take a lot more than it deals with. You're fine."

Jaye frowns on her end of the line. "You know you just ruined my dreams of crashing the server with spam mail, you know."

"You could do it, you'd just need four days and some kind of encryption," she said casually. "Besides, viruses work better for that, I find. Er, hypothetically."

"...I dare you to crash the server," she says, since Sam knows better than she does, apparently.

"What will you give me?" Sam asked, because apparently she was twelve.

"Ummm. You can totally get a serenade from the talky things. Any song you want."

Because Sam could hear them, yes.

"You have to leave it on the answering machine, so I can play it whenever."

"I will not only do that, I will record it on my phone and send it that way," Jaye says. "Deal?"

"Deal." Sadly, she probably already had the virus that could do this, with a bit of tweaking. "No telling anyone it was me, though."

"Psh. If I tell them it was you, I might not be able to get you to ever do it again," Jaye says, like this is a duh.

"I'm not becoming a computer terrorist just because you're addicted to YouTube," Sam told her.

"It's about so much more than that, Sam! But it would have to be explained by someone much more profound than me."

"Leave that on the answering machine, too, when you figure it out."

"How long is the tape?"

Sam began to get worried about this. "A couple of minutes, I think. Why?"

"I want to know how verbose the other person needs to be, and if they need to practice their timing first," Jaye says. She's lying. She wouldn't care if it got cut off halfway through.

"Who would be doing this explanation?"

"Well, someone who can speak well, which counts out anyone in this hotel. Maybe I can find a good actor slash waiter who'd be willing to do it for free if he could put the credit on his resume."

"My answering machine is a resume credit now?" Sam grinned and ran a hand through her hair, "And you can't even pay him in alcohol? Maybe he'd be cute and you could date him."

Or not date. "I can trick him into thinking it's a date in exchange for his services when I'm really getting him to pay for my drinks!"
