Room 417, Saturday night

Date nights are never bad. Unless they're bad dates. Which this won't be.

But Jaye's in her room, replying to E-mails from months ago in order to keep herself busy until Archie shows.

Archie has taken Rory's advice and, freshly showered and cologned, knocks on Jaye's door. He's wearing his nicest dress uniform despite his initial misgivings about usually dressing in uniform anyway, since Rory says girls love the uniform thing.

He's fidgeting a little, shifting his weight from one foot to the other, and looking nervous.

Jaye closes her laptop mid-reply, standing up, not tripping like a dork, and heading to the door to open it. "Hi," she says, smiling.

It's a good thing Archie wasn't leaning against the door, or he'd have fallen through it when Jaye opened it. "Hello yourself," he says, smiling. "How have you been since I saw you this morning?"

There's the tiniest of blushes going on when Jaye says, "Good. Really good."

Archie raises an eyebrow at the blushing, and teases, "Did you kiss any more girls in the meantime?"

"Oh, all of them," she says, shaking her head. "Kiss any more boys?"

"Just Samuel," he tells her, completely deadpan.

"Get detention next week for the following fight?" she grins.

"Absolutely." Still completely deadpan. "There was clothing ripped off, too."

"...Oh?"

"Oh yes." And again, still deadpan. "Except that of course I didn't."

He clears his throat. "Er, yes -- would you care to go to dinner now?"

"Yeah," she says. "Um. Lead the way?"
