Room 417, Friday afternoon

Jaye had meant to leave her room. She did. She'd decided she'd seen far too much of America's Next Top Model and needed to leave, but she'd only managed to open the door before she decided she had to know who won the last cycle and whether anyone fell down on the runway.

And now she's stitting cross-legged on the bed, completely unable to leave the room. She's debating popcorn, but the commercial breaks aren't long enough.

"Eh, I'll call someone to bring me some," she says, looking back when it goes to commercial. "I thought you just changed your look. Did you go back or what?"

"Peter Petrelli," Peter said, used to this by now. "You may know me as Peter Pet if you listen to radio."

"Oh, you're Steve," says Jaye. "I liked Seely's name better. I'm Jaye."

"Hey Jaye," Peter said with a smile. "Yeah, Steve. Some have also liked Moron #4."

"But at least one of the Peters isn't a moron," she points out. "So that one doesn't really work. Unless they're basing it on other criteria, in which case I can't say anything yet."

"I jumped off the roof yesterday," Peter offered.

Jaye looks over to see if he's serious. "Do you bounce?"

"Apparently not," Peter said. "Though that probably would've saved my pants."

"Well, you're not deadinated," she says. "Do you really just suck at jumping off roofs?"

"Walter caught me," Peter said. "Not sure even Shawn could patch me up if he hadn't."

It's only now that Jaye's thinking he's actually serious. "What the hell," she says. "And you're only Moron number four?"

"Thought I could fly," Peter admitted.

"Drugs?" she asks, kind of wondering if she was right when she was talking to Pam about things being slipped into the water.

"Dreams," Peter said. "Though my brother would probably say it's a small difference."

When the commercial ends, she waves him over. "It's look at the TV time now. Okay, new rule. No jumping off things without a bungee cord or helium balloons attached to you, 'kay?"

Peter took a seat on the floor. "I pomiesd not to try it again this week. Otherwise Sam won't take me out on her swoop bike."

"Good boy," she says. "Also those things are terrifying."

"The bike? Really?"

"We had to ride them in a summer class. They're icky and bad but I'm sure Sam's is better," she says quickly.

"Think it'd get me in trouble if I held on tight?" Peter asked.

"As long as you are conscious of where your hands are, you'll probably be fine," she assures him. "But she might be able to take you, so keep it in mind."

"I don't want to mess up my chance at having a ride on a swoop bike," Peter said. "I'll try to behave myself."

"Good Steve. Been meeting all the freaky people?" Jaye asks, frowning at the TV. "Who are less scary than some of these girls?"

"Everybody's been really nice so far," Peter said. "The stories are out there but I like it." He paused. "Is that girl wearing a diaper? On purpose?"

"You know, with her... I'm not sure if they put it on her or if she put it on herself," Jaye says, making a face.
