Room 417, Monday evening

Jaye's got most of her Christmas shopping done. Most of it. She's pretty sure she knows almost the entire school at this point, which makes it hard to keep track of everyone. But she's getting there, and now what she does have is all pretty and wrapped. Oh, if only she didn't have to go hunt everyone down, it would be so much easier. < /dramatical narrative >

She wishes really hard, and if people just show up, that would be awesome.

"I didn't know I was trying to be 'cute'," Anakin muttered, but he was smiling.

"Fine. One Jedi party trick coming up," he said, taking the jar of glitter and pouring a generous handful out.

He closed his eyes and the glitter slowly lifted off of his palm and spread into a pattern of stars on the ceiling. Anakin looked up and grinned. "There. The night sky, but without the nasty coldness of having to go outside and look at it."

Jaye looks impressed, as she doesn't get to see this where she comes from. "Okay, that might be the coolest thing I've ever seen," she admits. "Thanks."

Anakin gave her a pleased smile and then looked back up at the ceiling. "It is pretty cool, huh?"

He waved his hand and the glitter fell down from the ceiling and revolved itself into a shimmering sphere between them. "At home, an exercise in concentration," he said. "Here? A party trick."

"Either way, it's awesome," she says. "I can't make that happen without flinging it in the air with my hand. Which... is boring. And messy."

"Very messy," Anakin said, wrinkling up his nose. "Believe me, I spent a lot of time cleaning up glitter before I got the hang of this."

Another wave of his and the glitter was neatly back inside its jar.

"But it's way more interesting that lifting rocks, let me tell you."

"Depends on if any of the rocks hit anyone," she says, considering it. "Not the good kind of interesting, but..."

"Well, I did drop one on this Master's foot one time," Anakin said slowly. "Learned how to curse in Bothan that day. Got my mouth washed out with Wookiee soap that night."

He grinned. "Never forgot the look on her face."

Jaye laughs, even if a couple of the words are completely alien- heh- to her. "I may have to drag you into some mischief-making one of these times," she says. "Because you get to see the looks on their faces and none of the mouth-soaping."

"Definitely," Anakin said with a grin. "Find something in the book and we'll go nuts." He checked his chrono. "Speaking of, um, nothing whatsoever to do with what we were just talking about, I have a study session with a couple of beings right now."

He gave her a smile. "Merry Christmas, yes?"
