ooc: info post! yes, another!

fates_jayeI was just going to do an info post for Alexis, and then I realized I'm actually in dire need of an update for Jaye.
Jaye Tyler of Wonderfalls is a slacker by choice. She's smart as hell but not motivated at all, and is very much the black sheep in a family of incredibly successful people, who she pretty much tries to disappoint at every turn. She also got stuck with a super sucky gift, wherein inanimate animals- the muses- tell her to do things. A refresher on that in a minute. She came to Fandom High in September of 2005, graduated, went to Brown somehow, taught at FH once or twice, and went back home to Niagara Falls where she took a job working in a gift shop at the falls while living in a trailer home. And then she went to canon.
Sort of.
See, she started canon. In 2015. I got through one episode before I fell off, and Jaye remained in the nebulous limbo of "I need to get back to that" and "oh god is it weird if I get back to that now."
I've decided that why the hell not, let's get back to that now.
So all this time Jaye's been kinda stuck in time because that's how Fandom works, and she's going to have a fair amount of time wonkiness on her side for the summer. She's 24 years old still, works at a gift shop and hangs out at a bar with her best friend Mahandra, and she just so happened to meet a super cute bartender named Eric who had come to Niagara on his honeymoon, caught his new wife cheating on said honeymoon, so he upended his whole life and got a job there so he wouldn't have to go home. She's also seeing the animals ramp up their thing more, interfering more in her family life specifically, which is leading to her starting therapy because everyone (and Jaye, tbh) thinks she might be crazy.
What the muses mean for you! If you've known Jaye before, the fact that she sometimes talks to the wax lion she kept in her purse was pretty common knowledge, though I don't think she ever explained to anyone exactly what the deal was. Everyone just kinda went "yeah, sure" and accepted it. She's got reason to be more cagey about it now.
That said, if you want muse interference, please please please hit me up! The rules are simple: it can be any inanimate animal, a creamer in the shape of a cow, a stuffed animal, sports memorabilia with an animal mascot on it. I mod the muses, your character cannot hear them or see them move, though you can react to Jaye reacting to them. She'll also do pretty much anything they tell her to, or something bad will happen. (I do reserve the right to say no OOCly and I have had to use that before.) The only stipulation is that it has to lead to something good for your character, directly or indirectly.
That's it! I actually really, really would love to work with this if you have any ideas.
And since we have a returning player, here's a quick and dirty on my other characters:
Kitty Pryde-Barton (X-Men)- 26 year old mutant who runs Caritas, teaches during the regular school year, and is an occasional superhero. Married toso_hawkward and they now have a 1-1/2 year old named Lexi, how did that happen.
Rey (Star Wars)- 19 years old, baby Jedi who's gone through 2/3 of her canon and is balancing her time between a rebellion back home and training here withsith_happened. If anyone else looked in on this game I wonder if that'd make their head hurt.
Sabine Wren (Star Wars Rebels)- 17 years old and a rising senior. She's a Mandalorian warrior/artist/demolitions expert who's going to eventually go off to fight in the Rebellion, but not quite yet. She's datingunusual_sith and slowly but surely covering the town in her artwork.
Janet Kim (Kim's Convenience)- Totally normal 17-year-old Korean-Canadian girl who works at Turtle and Canary and tries to stay out of the big weirdness.
Brooke Davis (One Tree Hill)- Former graduate who's now a fashion designer and magazine mogul, who nevertheless has trouble actually running Clothes and Bros here. She's datingnewroutines.
Jaina Solo (Star Wars Legends)- Alumni who went back home to finish off canon and create some new stuff. She's a Jedi Master, Empress against her will more or less, and married to Jag Fel with two-year-old twins. Can beat so many of you up.
Marasiah Fel (Star Wars Legacy)- One of those twins is gonna end up Sia's grandpa. 22 years old, also an Empress and still figuring out how to do that, and hassuitablyheroic and craftyladyparts helping her out.
And me, Natalie! I'm on CST but keep my laptop on PST because that used to be the only way to remember when to get my radio links in on time and now I can't change it or the confusion will eat me alive. I'm around all day as work allows, but it's actually been more of a soul-crushing timesuck now that I'm working from home so please bear with me.
