Last night had kind of sucked. Jaye didn't have an issue with Valentine's Day at all, but when Alexis' boyfriend hadn't, in fact, been carted off by America's Most Wanted, it meant that Jaye had gotten sexiled again. And, of course, no one went to a bar on February 14, as it was all either couples, or scary losers looking at the couples and practically screaming "WHY DON'T I HAVE THAT."

Of course, the day after Valentine's Day was another story. People were more normal today, save for those poor saps who'd had the injustice of being kicked to the curb for the holiday and were still sulking, or just found out that they needed to sulk and were trying to make up for it.

Jaye was here mainly to watch the show.

She'd met up with a couple people she knew from the dorm, but after a while they'd headed off, and Jaye decided she'd finish her drink and do the same. She wasn't going to waste precious alcohol, oh no. You never knew when someone was going to figure out her ID was a fake and that was totally her excuse for drinking every last drop she could till then.

While she was putting her now-empty glass back on the table, she heard, "Jane, right?"

She was going to bitch about getting her name right, but when she saw the guy the voice belonged to was cute, she toned it down from eleven to maybe two. "Jaye. It's almost the same name, really."

"Oh, sorry about that. I'm Ethan, I think you're in my Philosophy class, right? You're the one in the back who sleeps during it?"

Jaye pursed her lips. "My roommate's a whore," she explained. She'd be sleeping in class even if her roommate wasn't a whore, let's be honest."

Ethan grinned. "Well, listen, I was wondering if I could buy you a drink."

Jaye paused, listening.

"Um," he said, grin disappearing.

"Sorry, though I heard my phone." With no animals telling her what to do- and thank god (unless God was the one telling her what to do, in which case she had a bone to pick)- she got to make the decision all on her own. On one hand, more booze. On the other... "See, I would, but I'm really serious about my roommate being a whore and I have to get home before her so I can try to barricade myself in for the night."

"Would you be open to another time?" he wondered.

More booze on a different occasion. Score. "Maaaaybe."

"Okay. I'll try to catch you in class before naptime," he said. "Good luck with the barricade. If you can move the desk, it's definitely the best thing to use."

"I'll remember that," she said, getting her coat. And as she left, she decided that at least the weekend hadn't been a total loss.
