Outside the Hyperion, Sunday night

Jaye spent her weekend in the 49th century.

Jaye's weekend kicked ass.

So she was more than a little disappointed to have to go back to real life, with its work and- ugh- classes and general Jacklessness. "Sure you don't want to stay?" she asked on the way up to the front door of the hotel. "We could totally get a cool place nearby and be like a buddy comedy."

"Could we solve crimes in our spare time?" he asked, grinning as he followed her. "We could be the shirtless detectives."

He laughed and leaned against the stair railing, not wanting to go inside. "That goes without saying. If you don't have wacky neighbours, you can't have hijinks or bizarre schemes to foil."

"I guarantee they'd buy it." He smirked. "Next trip, remind me to tell you what happens to them in a hundred years or so."

"Figure of speech, probably. Goneforeverland is a long way away," he answered. "And while we're on the topic, think you could do me a favour?"

"Deal." Jack stared up into the sky and shoved his hands in his pockets. "Give a message to Sam for me?"

Jack glanced at her, looking as sheepish as he ever got, which, granted, wasn't very. "Tell her I got her email and tell her," he shrugged and grinned, surrendering himself to sounding like a total dork, "tell her I'm still hers. And ask her to tell Cedric the same thing. I'm still theirs."

He rolled his eyes at himself. "Yeah, yeah, just keep it to yourself," he told her. "I've got a reputation to protect."

"Thanks, Jaye. I appreciate it." He shifted off the railing and walked over to stand in front of her. "And you did good this weekend, you know."

"I can't believe you kept those," he laughed. "I should head off, get back to my time now that you're safely back in yours."

"If I can leave them you'll have them," he promised, then grinned. "Do I get a proper goodbye?"

"Just this once." Jack scooped her into a hug and, being Jack, planted a kiss on her.

"You'd be amazed just how many people have," he laughed, hugging her tight. "But it actually means something coming from you."

"Already forgotten," he promised. "Because, yeah, unless your life got a hell of a lot more interesting while I've been gone, that's never going to fit." With another grin, he turned to walk down the stairs, and paused at the bottom. "See you, Jaye."
