Room 417, Sunday morning

Jaye has actually been productive, kind of, for once. She's managed to finish up her college apps, which are probably getting there late but who cares, and she even sealed them all pretty and everything. Of course, she also finished on a Sunday, so we'll see when she actually mails it.

She drops the envelopes on her desk, which is when one of the little paper cranes made the weekend of the sugar OD says, "Give thanks."

"Shut it, I am working on it," she says. "I even have a baking slave! And you don't even have a face."

The crane doesn't have a comeback for that.

[Open, if you're good for some SP, since I'll be in and out today.]

Isabel had been wandering in search of people when her inner Christmas OCD heard the word 'baking'. She knocked on Jaye's door.

[equally slow as I am disappearing at 1 EST and will not return till sometime after 7]

"Did I hear something about baking? Cause it is almost that time. I was planning on spending a Saturday working on Christmas cookies. Want to join me?" she asked in a rush. Yes, the girl is starting to get a bit worked up about the holidays.

"You can still do sprinkles," Isabel said, nodding enthusiastically. "I'm sure Aeryn would appreciate the help. But you're right, Thanksgiving first. Are you staying here?" She wrinkled her nose, "I had talked to Parker about going home with her, but we haven't confirmed anything yet."

"I need to talk to Parker, but if I stay, do you want help?" she offered.

Isabel grinned. "Okay, I can do that. Are you interested in a traditional Thanksgiving dinner? Or something more offbeat. I have to say though, offbeat would make me twitch."

"No pizza," she said firmly. "Turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing! I'll start looking for recipes."

"Well if you want to cheat, there's always Green Giant frozen vegetables," Isabel suggested half seriously. "All you have to do is boil water and drop in the bag."

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2006-11-20 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
"Actually you do use the bag. The food's already cooked. You're just heating it up. When it's hot enough, you take it out, open the bag and dump it in a bowl," Isabel explained patiently.

She laughed. "Have you given any thought to where to have this feast?"

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2006-11-20 03:48 am (UTC)(link)
"It's probably best," Isabel agreed. "Lots of room for all the holiday refugees."

"No pizza," she laughed. "You'll enjoy turkey more. Trust me. But for now, I'd better go try and search out Parke to see if I'll even be around to help cook."

Still laughing, Isabel headed out the door and the mun headed off to bed. "I'll do that," she promised. "You'll have my answer tomorrow."
