Room 417, Thursday evening

It's becoming apparent to Jaye that she's not really getting out enough, save for that little side trip to the Sin the other day which was not for sex purposes thank you, but rather bothering-the-hookers purposes.

If she thinks too hard about that, she might end up putting in a call to Dr. Ron.

But she doesn't wanna, so she's hanging in her room with the door closed and actually reading her spam mail. She really should think too hard about that, because that's a sure sign she needs to get out.

"Wasting their cash makes your parents happy?" Jack asked, grinning failtly. "I only ask as I haven't got any parent's whose cash I can waste."

"It's the simple things in life that make it all worth it," she says. "No parents?"

"Nope. They never came back and picked me up. So no cash wastage." His voice was as matter of fact as Jaye's had been. "I like the red. It suits me."

She watches him for a moment, not saying the That was dumb of them that she's thinking, and finishes up his other hand before picking up the last bottle. "So what about you? Any idea what you want to do with yourself?"

"I'm going to join the Time Agency," he replied, voice practically humming with excitement. "It's all I've ever wanted to do, and when I leave here, I've got a place at the Academy waiting for me."

Jaye's smiling a little when she says, "I have no idea what that is but yay."

"Very yay," Jack laughed. "Once I've got my own time ship, I'll come back and get you, take you on a whirlwind tour of anywhen you want to go."

She might look a tiny bit excited about that. "Seriously?"

"If I can, I will. I promise," he said seriously, then grinned. "When do you want me to take you?"

"Future sometime, but I'm not sure when," she says. "Anything cool happen that you know of in like the next four centuries?"

"I wasn't much for history, which I'm guessing is going to have to change." Jack pondered that for a minute. "Huh. I could take you to my time, show you around, but it's not that exciting."

"No, that could be cool," she says. "Get to see where you're from and stuff. Could be awesome. And hey, future."

"And any place or time that has you in it is automatically many times cooler than it was before." Jack used his free hand to grab a spoonful of ice cream, then offered a spoonful to Jaye. "It's all soft and melted now, so it's perfect."

She takes a bite from the spoon with a "Mm," and finishes off his hand. "Tah dah!"

Jack stuck the spoon back in the ice cream and held up both hands. "Gorgeous. Thanks, Jaye." He leaned forward and kissed her on the cheek. "I think I like being your portable Jack."

"Good. Happy to be... non-portable Jaye doesn't work, but whatever I am, I'm glad to be it," she says.

"Hey, you could be portable. I could carry you around easily." He wiggled his fingers at her. "Once these are dry."

"One day I might have to make you carry me around the dorms just to see people's reactions," she thinks.

"We can do that." Jack leaned back against the pillows, looking very satisfied with himself. "Pick a day and I'll piggyback you around the dorms, into town, wherever you want. Make it a weekend though, two of my teachers have zero sense of humour."

"I don't know yet that I'll be working tomorrow, but, I think I could make time in my Saturday. I'm making a date to be luggage."

"Think of it as a date to be a jockey, not luggage. I have to warn you though, I'm not wearing a bridle." He paused, smirked, and added, "Again."
