Room 417, Monday morning

Jaye doesn't have to be anywhere till afternoon, thank god, because it might take her that long to get over the freakout over having told her date that inanimate objects talk to her. Even if he was kind of okay with it. That might have been because he was having his own verbal hemmorrhage, though.

He's still here, too, which makes Jaye really hope that whatever happened ended like at midnight or something. She's just going to lay here and just kind of go over things in her head. And the longer he sleeps, the more curious she's going to get, let's face it.

Alec almost never sleeps very late, so it's not long before he stirs, slowly opening his eyes, very slightly tense until he realizes what bed he's woken up in. "Mmmphng," he says, rubbing at one eye sleepily.

"Hi," she says back, half-mumbled. And kind of testing something, says, "How'd you sleep?"

"I always sleep pretty hard after sex, but I only need five hours max so it worked out," he says, voice still rough with sleep. "You?"

"Good, except I woke up a couple times for no reason and then fell back asleep. I have no idea why you needed to know that but I said it anyway," she says.

"I guess we're still on for the oversharing thing," he mumbles, seriously considering for a moment rolling over and sleeping some more. "So, to take shameless advantage, was it good at least?"

"Uh huh," she answers, pretty much immediately. "I think you would have gotten that answer out of me anyway."

Alec grins. "Good to know. So what's your plan for today?"

"Class and asking you about that whole breakdown thing and making out with Dean," Jaye says, wincing. Gah.

Alec grimaces and rolls enough to bury his face in the pillow. "Mphhngrn."

"Ack," she grumbles. "Didn't plan on saying thaaaat. But, since I did..."

He lifts his head, sighing. "I don't suppose I can stop you."

"Yeah, I remember the word 'breakdown' being used. That's a little worrisome," she says, turning over to face him.

Alec grumbles and wastes a few moment stretching a little before he answers. "Rory read from an old book in ancient Egyptian and that's why we had all the plagues last week. Some of us lucky people got our own personal hell acted out in nightmare-hallucination form."

"Oh," she says, feeling a little guilty that she was enjoying the weirdness of things like rain of pudding. Only a little. "Aha. So... breakdown."

"Breakdown because I thought I was being taken back to Manticore and summarily tortured, euthanized, and used for parts," he said, closing his eyes again. "But it wasn't real, so."

"Good," she says, frowning and hating the thought that it might actually happen. "They don't get you back."

"Not alive, if I can help it," he agrees, then smiles faintly. "Because I really like being here, even if I have hellish nightmares and long involved talks about my feelings because of some Fandom weirdness."

"As tradeoffs go, it could suck more," Jaye agrees. "You notice I didn't eyeroll at the long involved talks once so far?"

"No, which I'm not sure means you're more or less crazy," he says, smile widening a little as he opens an eye to look at her. "But I'm glad you've stuck around so far."

"So'm I," she says, smiling a little at him. And the crazy thing means she has to ask the next question. "You really think I'm mentally unstable?"

"I don't know," he says, entirely honestly. "You could be hiding it really well, if you are. I know it can be done." Alec gives her a measuring look. "Do you think you are?"

"Sometimes," she admits, determinedly looking at one point on the wall. "I'm not sure yet."

"Then you probably aren't," he says. "Don't they say crazy people never think they are?"

"Inanimate objects tell me to do things and I do them," she reminds him. "I don't even say no half the time anymore."

"I'm willing to forgive you possible insanity because I really like sleeping with you and I enjoy your company," he says, wincing at his own phrasing. "I'd really like it if you didn't set me on fire or kill me, if they tell you to though."

Yeah, she would agree with him on that thing about the phrasing. "Don't worry, I'm with you on that," she says.

"Good," he says, somewhat relieved. "This wordvomit thing really blows."

"Yeah, it does, so you made out with Dean?"

He makes a face at her. "Yes, and I kind of liked it more than I think is good, but I've been kind of in denial about it because I've never been attracted to a guy like that much less had sex with one."

"I don't know if that weirds me out or not," Jaye says, then pauses as the phrasing catches up with her. "...Wait, did you just say you're thinking about having sex with him?"

"I can't not think about it," he says, with a caught-in-the-headlights look. "I've never just made out with someone. I don't stop at the middle ground, and I'm trying really hard not to think about having sex with him, so I'm trying to deny it even happened except that. It. Keeps. Coming. Up." Alec rolls over then and seems to be attempting to smother himself in the pillow.

"There's a first time for everything," Jaye flails, and might be pulling the covers up a little higher like if she disappears under them, he won't notice. Or the conversation will end. Or something. "Because oh my god this just went really weird, huh?"

"This is spectacularly weird," Alec says, rolling onto his side with a pained look. "I wouldn't mind a first time except I don't exactly know how besides the theory and I'm used to knowing what I'm doing."

"I'm in bed with a guy talking about his potential first time with another guy," she considers. "This is a first."

"Too many firsts," Alec manages, feeling a little scattered. "I think I need some air."

She nods, and keeps doing it until she reminds herself to stop. "Air good."

He gets up and rummages for his clothes quietly. Pulling on his pants, Alec glances at Jaye. "See you later? Maybe things won't be so weird."

"Yeah," she says, hoping this damn thing wears off first. "Later."

Alec nods and finishes dressing before he escapes without letting loose another unintended secret.
