Room 417, Tuesday afternoon

Jaye's camped out in her room, watching her Misguided DVD's.

All animals have been shoved under the bed. They're trying to sing. Jaye's ignoring them.

Door's open.

"Like like you like you," he looks up at her with an almost apologetic smile and a small shrug.

He lets out a breath, but a smile can't be bad. "It's hard not to," he offers gently.

"But I thought you said you didn't like me like that," she says.

"I thought I didn't?" He says because he's not sure where his mind has been these last few week. "I know I'm not supposed to because we're flinging and I didn't..." He halts and maybe it's just easier to go with the other answer. "I lied."

"Oh," she says again. "Because, um, yeah."

"Yeah," he agrees and rubs her feet. "Do you want me to go?"

"No," she tells him quickly. "No, it's. Um."

"It doesn't have to change anything," he tells her softly. "You stub your toe, I'll fuss."

Jaye sighs and looks up at the ceiling. "Um. So I might kind of... maybe possibly like you, too." Eyes still on the ceiling. Always on the ceiling.

"Kind of maybe possibly?" He questions, but he's grinning like a fool because that's enough. He reaches out and turns her chin towards him, waiting for her to look at him before he says, "Hey."

"Yeah," she says, figuring he's not going to have a problem with her saying it back, but yeek anyway.

"Okay," he smiles and leans in to kiss her, still giving her room to pull back if she changes her mind just in case.
