All animals have been shoved under the bed. They're trying to sing. Jaye's ignoring them.

Kawalsky stopped by with an envelope in one hand. "Hey."

"Happy birthday for whenever it was." He offered the envelope. It contained 2 tickets for a Capitals game against the team of your choice.

He shrugged and smiled a little. "Well, I try from time to time. Have a good birthday?"

"The important part was good," she says. "There can be no bad in a surprise party I already knew about."

"You know, I didn't actually know it was supposed to be a surprise. I even got an invitation. But when I got down there people yelled 'surprise' and I figured..."

"Ahhh. Gotcha. So if they yell 'surprise', it's a surprise party. Makes sense. Did you get cake?"

"Handwavily, yes," she says. "Rory throws good parties. She should be hired... somewhere."

"Definitely. So...how is everyone? I haven't really hung out in a while."

"I think everyone's okay," she says. "Bridgey and Rory totally slept together on the radio which I'm never letting them forget and Molly's birthday was yesterday and stuff. I haven't been doing much of the hanging out kind of hanging out lately." Shrug.

"Oh." He looked abashed. "That's an easier mental image to live with." Kawalsky scratched the back of his head. "Anyway, enjoy the tickets. I'll let you get back to doing your thing."

"They're good seats. Oh, and make sure you buy one of those horn things so you can annoy the hell outta the people around you. Makes the game way more fun." He waved and headed for the door. "Hope ya have fun."
