Room 417, Monday night

Jaye's taking it pretty easy tonight. She's sitting on the bed, flipping through Weekly World News (yes, that Weekly World News) and listening to music. Okay, not so much listening to music. More like listening to her phone go off several thousand times while her mom tries to call her. Jaye's pretty sure she should pick up the phone, but she likes the ringtone.

After his conversation with Rory in the common room, Cameron somehow ends up wandering up to the 4th (and definitely not so cool) floor. Okay, so maybe it's not an entire coincidence that he knocks on Jaye's door.

"Enter!" she calls. Maybe she should consider getting a remote for the door. Ooh, she should talk to Bridge.

Cameron enters the room and grins as he closes the door behind him. "Yo!"

"Can we talk for a moment?" He asks as he moves closer to the bed but doesn't sit down.

"Nah, nothing bad." He squats down beside the bed and fingers the sheets. "According to Parkie flings can last from a weekend up until a whole summer..."

He hums and taps her arm with his finger once. "So, are we still flinging?"

Laughing, he sits down on the edge of the bed. "You know, people seem to be really interested in our flinging."

"You have? Parker seems to be in favour and Rory is debating getthing her own fling, she just doesn't know who with." And no, he doesn't get distracted by legs at all.

"Or we're hot and they like the thought of us making you?" He smiles and maybe he did get distracted because he reaches out and runs his hand over her thigh.

"Do you want to?" He asks and leans in a bit. "Cause otherwise I suggest kicking me out now."

"Well, it's not like I had anything else planned for tonight," she says seriously, but she's leaning in, too.

"Hmmmm, wouldn't want you to get bored." He says softly and leaves his hand exactly where it is on her thigh as he kisses her.

This is definitely not boring, and she brings a hand up to his face as she kisses him back. "There'll probably be more questions tomorrow," she murmurs.

"I don't care. We're flinging," he whispers back and kisses her again, not breakign the kiss as he pushes her gently down on the bed.

In an effort to get her mind off of everything else that's going on, Veronica decides to stop by and ask Jaye a pretty weird favor.

Jaye's about to leave for a second when she opens the door and sees Veronica there. "Hey," she greets her.

"Yeah I kind of figured that out," she says with a laugh, remembering how Jaye went dumpster diving for her.

"Have you been to the new music store in town?"

"Not yet," she says, taking a seat on her bed. "Kept meaning to, but haven't gotten around to it yet."

Veronica sits in the chair at Jaye's desk assuming she has one? and smiles at Jaye. "How would you feel about taking a trip down there this week and... shoplifting something to see what happens?"

"Yeah," Veronica says. "It's totally cool if you don't want to. Call it a sociology experiment. A friend of mine tried shoplifting there and got offered a job. I'm trying to figure out if she's special or if the owner is an idiot."

Jaye considers it for a minute, because she has been good here, but the snake told her to. When she looks over, it's just staring at her.

"Okay. I'm in," she says.

"Thank you," Veronica says with a grateful smile. She opens her purse and digs out a twenty to hand to Jaye.

"Make sure the owner is working. His name is Lucas. And if he catches you, give him some kind of sob story about it being your boyfriend's birthday and you couldn't afford a gift, okay?"

"I am so good with the fake stories, you wouldn't believe," she says, pocketing the cash. "I'll let you know what happens. Or call you to bail me out."

"Definitely call me if you run into trouble, but please don't use my name in front of Lucas. I don't want him to know I sent you," she says. "But I promise I won't let you get in trouble for this."

Veronica stands up and smiles again. "I really appreciate this, Jaye."
