The gremlin had taken a wrong turn somewhere and ended up in the vent that led to Jaye's room. He peered out and, upon spotting Jaye, was about to turn around and leave when he spotted it. Halting mid turn, his mouth fell open at what he had just seen.
The brass monkey. It was so shiny. The light glinted off it's surfaces in a most delightful way. It also resembled a gremlin slightly. He had to take a closer look.
Quietly, the gremlin opened the vent and snuck into Jaye's room. Watching her back, he carefully stole across the room to where the monkey sat in all it's sparkly glory. He slowly climbed up to where it sat and gazed upon it admirably.
With another quick look at Jaye's back, he picked it up and attempted to climb back down to the floor with it. The brass monkey was too heavy, however, and he ended up dropping it onto the floor with a loud thunk.
