Jaye hasn't slept. At all. She's tried. She's tried earplugs, and pillows over her head, and sticking them into the closet. At one point she put them in the bathroom and turned on the shower, to no avail.

Jaye gets out of bed, stalks into the bathroom, and closes the door again behind her. Looking at them arranged on the counter, she says, "When I told you to get new songs, I didn't mean oldies. I'm listening. What?"

"Well, that's nice and cryptic," she grumbles, considering she's asking them for the message. "I'm trying here."

"Did you just *facepalm* at me?" she asks, more than a little offended. "Hey, if you're going to be like this about it-"

"Shhhhh!" she snaps. "You don't need to do that again. You're so new." With a sigh, she says, "Fine."

Leaving the bathroom, she gets her cell phone and checks the voice mail. Besides a couple ignored phone calls from her mother and one from Sharon left over from Parents' Weekend, there's nothing. "Okay," she mutters. "Not that message."

She returns to the bathroom, and sits on the floor. She doesn't like that they're looking down on her from this angle, but she is their bitch, so it's probably fitting. "Okay, message. Where would I find messages? Can you be a little more specific? Are we talking big like billboards and preachy TV shows, or small like phone messages and wipe boards?"

"See, this is why I hate listening to you. You want me to use my brain on a Saturday morning when I haven't slept all night. That's cruel and unusual. Was I a dictator in a past life?" she wonders. "Am I the reincarnated spirit of Hitler brought back to atone for a couple million dirty deeds by having to put up with talking animal insanity?"

Jaye groans loudly, sitting back so she can bang her head against the wall. "Okay, fine." She taps her finger to her nose, pointing at the monkey. "Four words. Sounds like..."

Jaye frowns. "Don't sigh at me, waxy. You could help me out a little."

"That's not what I meant!" she cries, whimpering. "Right. Sure. Veronica and a message. She's going to think I'm a crazy person."

Jaye stands, rubbing her hand over her face. As she leaves the bathroom again, she can be heard muttering, "I'm sorry for all the past Hitlering, karma gods..."
