SeaHORSE cabin, alcove A2, Wednesday morning

After photography, Jaye comes back to the cabin, because it is pretty there and who the hell needs sunshine? Pfft. What? She's being productive, if anyone's paying attention to what she's doing.

It can not already be Wednesday. She is having fun. It is pretty and happy here. And the girls are cool, too. Not that they're not pretty, but whatever.

The date with Alec surprisingly turned out to be one of her better ones. Which is kind of weird. There'll be a second, even if Jaye thinks she might been to figure out a thing or two. But she can do that.

When she's done with her little project, she goes out into the common room briefly to put up a sign reading "SHIRTLESSNESS ENCOURAGED". Because really, it's a damn good idea. And then she's back in her little alcove, wondering if it's too early to call Mahandra.


[Curtain's open if the Seahorses (NO TYPO, WOO!) are around, but standard weekday availability applies: on until 7:30 PST, probably back at lunch, pinging like crazy when I get back from work.]

She has no idea how she's managing all this without smiling. "Was there anything particular you had in mind?"

"Nothing in mind whatsoever, except whatever might make you happy," he said with a small smile. "Think of me as being at your beck and call."

She stretches her legs out in front of her, smiling back up at him. "So... if I were to beck, or call, or both... You'd just help me out, just like that?"

"Just like that," he replied simply, reaching down to brush his hand across her hair. "I'm always happy to help my friends, with anything they might need."

She tilts her head up a little and says, "That's really giving of you, Jack."

Smiling modestly, he said, "I'm a giving sort of guy."

She's got quite a few reasons why this is a bad idea, but at the same time... Something couldn't hurt. "Prove it?" she asks.

"Okay," he said with a smile. He slowly ran the back of his hand down her cheek, bringing it to rest under her chin. Bending forward, he gently tilted her head up and kissed her softly. "How's that?"

She places a hand on his side, stroking the skin a little with her thumb. "I think you can give more than that."

He raised an eyebrow at her. "You do, do you?" Resting one knee on the edge of the bed, he placed his hands on her hips, thumbs sneaking under her shirt to brush her skin. "You might be right." He kissed her again, lips firm against hers, gently nudging them apart to touch his tongue to hers.

She deepens the kiss slowly, snaking an arm up around his back so her hand can rest at the nape of his neck, keeping him right there.

Sliding one arm around her waist, he leaned forward until his body was flush with hers, slowly pushing her backwards while he kissed her.

She lets him lay her down on the bed, pulling him with her and nipping at his lower lip.

Hands flat on the bed beside her hips, he shifted, lifting his knee over her legs, one foot still on the floor, and gentled the kiss, pulling away slightly to look at her, one eyebrow raised in question.

Jaye looks back at him for a moment, and sighs. "I think I have to be good. God dammit."

Jack kissed her once more and sat up, weight on his knee. "Jaye, you are good." He reached for her hand and cradled it between his, tracing the line of her knuckles. "And apart from anything else? This really isn't the place. Subtle nuances require privacy."

Which, okay, yes, point. Way to traumatize the roomies. "Sorry," she says anyway. "God, you're nice about this."

"Sorry for what?" Jack asked in surprise, shifting to sit cross legged on the end of the bed, still holding her hand. "And what is there not to be nice about?"

She sits up, but doesn't let go of his hand. "I keep flaking on you," she reminds him, and again, hot shirtless guy in her room. "Some people don't appreciate that kinda thing."

"Oh, that." He laughed softly. "Enjoy the moment, remember? Wherever it does - or doesn't - end up." He lifted her hand and pressed a kiss to her palm. "No pressure and no rush."

"And I am enjoying it," she admits. Smiling back at him, she says, "Yeah, seriously, keeping you around, wherever it does end up."

Ducking his head slightly, he smiled happily at her. "Glad to hear it. Both the enjoying part and the keeping me around part." He let go of her hand and grabbed his shirt, pulling it back on. "I guess I should leave you in peace, then."

"The sign stays up," she assures him with another grin.

"But it's so much fun taking my shirt off." He stretched to his feet and grinned down at her. "I put it on so that I have an excuse to take it off again."

She considers this. "I concede to your logic."

"That's because you're very wise," he replied solemnly as he headed out into the hallway. "Enjoy your day, and if you need me for anything, you know where to find me."
